Game Rules

Game Rules


The following rules apply on all BK.UK servers.

1. Accounts and multi accounts

Principle :
Multi accounts are now allowed. It means that a player can play more than one account on the same server.
However, account sharing is still forbidden. One player per account only.
Please note you may only ask for a nickname change once every 8 weeks (2 months)

Details:
In order to play more than 1 account you need to 'inform' the team by following these instructions:

Here is the way to do it:
Go to: Account Settings

=> Add the name of your second account.

=>The page displays that you've sent the request to add the account as multi.

index.php?page=Attachment&attachmentID=250
=> Log into the second account. Here you will see the request and you will need to accept it.

=>Requests accepted. Here are listed all your multis!

Sanctions:
  • Undeclared Multi Accounts : 3 day ban + accounts automatically listed as multi.
  • Account sharing : Perma ban
  • Account stealing : Perma ban
  • Buying and selling account : Perma ban
  • Threats to get gems : Perma ban
  • Invalid nickname : Perma ban until the player asks for a change nickname.

2. IP sharing

Principle:

If 2 accounts or more which share IP do play on the same servers, the owners must inform the Staff by sending a Ticket using the Support.
A shared IP which is not communicated to the Staff will be considered as a multi.


Declaration:

Sharing IP declaration must be done by using the support system : http://support.battleknight.co.uk

Sanctions:
  • Non communicated Shared IP : Banned until user contacts the team.
(In case you have questions, poke the staff)


3. Account sitting

Principle:
An account can be played by only one person at the same time.
Exception to this rule is the account sitting.

Details:
Sitting must be allowed by the Staff. He needs to be informed of the sitting 24 hours before the beginning.
The owner of the sitted account must wait the answer of the Staff to give the password to the sitter.
An account can't be sitted more than 14 days, and there is a period of 7 days between each sitting of the same account.
A player can sit only one account at a time on the same server.
It's forbidden for the sitter to change the email, password of the account.
It's also forbidden to leave a castle.
Any abuse will be punished.

If a player is going to be away for a long period of time which is at least 3 months, his account can be sitted by the same player who will be allowed to log in the account ONCE per month, so the account won't be deleted.


Sanctions:

Non declared sitting :

  • 1st time: 2 days ban
  • 2nd time:: 5 days ban
  • 3rd time: : 7 days ban
  • 4th time: : 10 days ban
  • 5th time: : perma ban

Account sitting abuse:

  • 1st time: 2 days ban
  • 2nd time:: 5 days ban
  • 3rd time: : 7 days ban
  • 4th time: : 10 days ban
  • 5th time: : perma ban

4. Accounts giving, take overs


Principle:

Account swaps/giving away must be approved by the Staff by using the Support Ticket.
The player who wants to give his account must use the same Email to send the ticket than the one he uses in game.


Details:

The Staff won't give you back an account that you have given to someone else.
The exchange can't be canceled.
The same account can't be given before having waited 28 days between each exchange.
The new owner must change the password himself.
The former owner must give the password to the new owner.
The Staff won't change any passwords for exchanged accounts. This is up to the players.
If an account has been punished before being given to another player, it will keep the punishment.
It means that if the previous player has been banned once for insults - 2 days - the next sanction will be a 5 days ban, even if it's a new owner.
The future new owner can ask to the staff before taking over the account if this account has been banned before the exchange.


Sanctions:

  • If the exchange is done without the Staff agreement, the nickname won't be changed, the Staff will give the account back to the first owner in case he decides to take over back the account.


Declaration:

The exchange of accounts must be done on the Support System: http://support.battleknight.co.uk/


5. Bug using

Principle:

Using a bug knowlingly is forbidden.
Since players are supposed to keep informed of the official news by reading the Board, they are supposed to be informed of new bugs.
A bug using can be punished only if there is a thread on the board which informs users that doing this or that is forbidden.
No punishment without any written rule.


Details:

The fact not to inform the Staff of a new bug will be punished.


Sanctions:
  • Bugusing : temporary ban or perma ban, depends on the gravity of the case.

6. Script

Principle:

Scripts, bots and macro using are forbidden.
Exception : if they are allowed by gameforge.


Sanctions:
  • Scripting : perma ban

7. Exploiting rules

Principle:

Threatening players that they would be banned is forbidden.

Details:

Taking over GO identity or telling users they are teamliers.

Sanctions:
  • Exploiting rules : tempo or perma ban.
  • Using a team members identity: Perma ban
  • Threatening to punish the user via the staff: (this means saying I know xxx team member and I will get him/her to ban you) Perma ban


8. Real life threats

Principle:

Threatening people is forbidden on board, in game, in IRC.

Sanctions:
  • Real life threats : Perma ban

9. Spam, Flood, Abuse of the report in game

Principle:

Flooding and spamming is forbidden : in game, on the board, on IRC, by email, on the support ticket...

Details:

This also includes
  • Spam of non GF games.

Sanctions:
  • Spam & abuse of report in game :
  • 1st time : warning
  • 2nd time : 2 days
  • 3rd time :5 days
  • 4th time : 10 days
  • 5th time : perma ban


Spam/Advert :

  • 1st time : Edit + warning
  • 2nd time : Edit + 2 days ban
  • 3rd time : Edit + 5 days ban
  • 4th time: Edit + 10 days ban
  • Cinquième fois : Perma ban
  • Exception : Perma ban in case of massive spam.


10. Text and content

What is the "content" :

The term "content" includes all data, images, text, graphics, music, sounds, sound sequences, videos, software programs and codes, and other information, provided by Gameforge on its Internet pages. The term "content" includes also all available service offerings for downloading.

Principle:

The user is prohibited from publishing or distributing content on Gameforge Internet pages and particularly in the context of the communications facilities, that
a) violates the law, is improper or is immoral;
b) violates trade marks, patents, utility or design patterns, copyrights, trade secrets or other rights of third parties;
c) is obscene, racist, violent, pornographic, adult content or otherwise the development of children and adolescents threatening or harmful nature;
d) is of abusive, harassing or defamatory nature;
e) includes chain letters or pyramid schemes;
f) falsely suggests that it is provided or supported by Gameforge;
g) contain personal data of third parties without their express consent;
h) is commercial, in particular promotional in nature.

Moral limits in game are decided and controled by the Game Staff.


About Orders/Castles :

Contents of descriptions, names, messages, news, name orders, and so on which breach this rule will also be censured and punished.
The Leader order is liable of what's written there since he is able to take back powers he gave to users who are able to edit in any way orders content.


Sanctions:

Insults :
  • 1st time : 2 days ban
  • 2nd time : 5 days ban
  • 3rd time : 7 days ban
  • 4th time : days ban
  • 5th time : perma ban

Inappropriate language :
  • 1st time : censured + warning

  • 2nd time : censure + 2 days ban
  • 3rd time : censure + 5 days ban
  • 4th time : censure + 10 days ban
  • 5th time : perma ban

Illicit content :
  • 1st time : 2 weeks
  • 2nd time : perma ban

11. Language

Principle:

The official and only language spoken in this community is English.


Details:

This rule also applies in circular messages.

Sanctions:
  • 1st time : censured + warning

  • 2nd time : censure + 2 days ban
  • 3rd time : censure + 5 days ban
  • 4th time : censure + 10 days ban
  • 5th time : perma ban

Exception :

Latin quotes.
Exception for the Beta Server since it's an international server : all languages can be spoken there.


12. BK.UK Staff

Principle:

Staff members are non paid persons who are giving their time to help you.
They are trustable as they have signed a contract which GF which states that they are not allowed to share confidential informations about the Game.

Sanctions:
  • Insults, disrespect, threanetings to a Teamler : temporary ban (depending on situation) and if the issue continues a ban can be extended to all servers.

13. Complains

Principle:

If you think you've been unfairly punish, send a ticket explaining what happened.
The super game operator will check what has done.
If you still are unhappy of the SGO's decision, the Game Admin will be the last one checking the case.
His decisions applies and cannot be appealed.

Please note that complains will be discussed ONLY with the owner of the account, and not his friends.

Complains have to be sent by the Support Ticket.
It means that they can't be done on the Board.

Sanctions:

If any complain on the board, the Board time will be able to punish on the Board by warnings, then by banning the Board Account.


15. T&C

Principle:

T&C applies in game as well.
By logging on your account, you accept the T&Cs and the privacy policy .

We have also added a small tuto after the change in the read to help you to announce that you have multies. (read up :))

Please also note that, even if you've sent to another player a message requesting him to stop sending you messages, we cannot punish him because of it, as we cannot forbid people to attack you.

there is nothing in the game rules that states someone can be punished because he has not respected your wish to stop receiving messages from him.
I don't even know how comes this "rule" grown in some users minds..

anyway.. the main reason why we cannot forbid it is because of freedom of speech.. as long as there is nothing insulting, and as long as it's not flooding your inbox mail..
the second reason is because this would be really unfair someone to be banned because he has sent you a message whereas we have no proof at all you have not sent him first a message too.. one would be allowed to send messages and the other wouldnt be allowed to answer because the first one was faster by sending a request to stop sending messages ? just unfair.
the third reason is directly linked to GF. as you might have seen, Gameforge worked alot to improve users preferences in game. Seems so far that it's not GF's wish to add an ignore/black list in there.

some might say that something about it is written in the T&C.. but in its guidelines for BK's game rules, GF never mentionned that we were supposed to ban people because of it. this rule apply for some games but not for BK.

please keep it in mind :)

Greetings community.

Soon the BK rules will be updated to include these 2 parts.
HOWEVER THEY ARE NOT ACTIVE YET. WHEN THEY BECOME ACTIVE, WE WILL LET YOU KNOW.
THIS IS AN ADVANCED WARNING ONLY.


*All accounts of an account owner on the same server can be sat by one sitter. Sitter and sat accounts may play on the same server.

(So far the rules said that one account per server may be sat by one person, so a player would've had to look for 5 different sitters for his 5 accounts on the same server...now with the merge and all that is of course deprecated and pointless so that's why it's changed as written above.)

*Changes in the order or leaving to a different order done by the sitter are only allowed if the owner explicitly confirmed that in the sitting announcement.

(So far this was completely forbidden but if the owner confirms and allows it there's no reason why it should be.)

Timeframe: in course of the next ~3 weeks.
Will be implemented step by step in all countries one after the other.
